Discharge splint

Férulas de descarga También conocida como férula de estabilización o de desprogramación clinica dental omega torremolinosBruxism is the term used to describe the grinding or clenching of teeth, a habit that can generate alterations in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which connects the jaw to the skull, and pains in the mouth, head, neck, etc. It usually occurs during sleep, resulting in irreversible tooth wear.

For this purpose, the discharge splint, also called stabilization splint, muscle myorelaxation or neuroprogramming, is a piece of plastic material (acrylic resin) and transparent that is placed over the teeth of the upper or lower arch of the mouth.
The splint dissipates the loads transmitted by the forces of the bite during clenching or grinding of the teeth, relaxing the facial muscles. This relieves the tension in the jaw, which is responsible for pain in this joint, but also in the head or neck.

Fixed orthodontics: consists of conventional brackets or self-ligating brackets, within these two types of brackets we have the metal and sapphire that provide more aesthetics during treatment.

Removable orthodontics: we speak of removable orthodontic treatment when these are carried out with appliances that the patient can remove from the mouth both at mealtime and teeth brushing.

Although they are popular with both adults and children, they differ depending on the orthodontic treatment and the corrections that need to be made.

Invisible Orthodontics: No one will be able to see that you wear orthodontics! Invisalign is one of the most aesthetic treatments available. It consists of several sets of transparent splints made to measure that the patient must wear in the mouth for at least 22 hours a day. Each set is aimed at a specific micromovement, and should be replaced by the next pair once 15 days have elapsed. Invisalign is indicated to correct practically any type of dental malposition.
